The Shed Project is based in Taranaki but delivers New Zealand wide. We are a small New Zealand family business ran by New Plymouth locals Mathew and Rebecca Somerfield. Mat has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the building industry having spent the last 20 years building both residential and commercial property. Rebecca is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has spent the last 14 years working in various finance roles within the retail travel sector. The Shed Project team purpose is to provide and deliver a positive experience to all customers through our high quality product and excellent customer service.
Our kitset timber garden sheds and cabins are manufactured from high quality, slow grown Scandinavian Redwood. All products are pre-sealed and stained for weatherproofing, which means they are able to weather all elements and remain attractive for years to come.
These portable traditional kitset garden sheds, cabins, summer houses, hobby houses, playhouses and chalets come pre–panelised with all doors and windows pre-fitted in prefabricated panels making for very easy handling, transportation and quick assembly.
Hardware finishes include traditional English black antique hinges, glass and fittings. Scandinavian Redwood tongue and groove floors are included along with tongue and groove roofs, which are covered with heavy-duty bitumen green chipped felt, similar material used for residential house shingles, which is extremely weather tight.
Safety and sustainability are important to us. Kids playhouses comply with European toy safety regulations and for every tree harvested, two are planted, ensuring forests are never depleted and will continue to produce timber long into the future. Member of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
